Mini Collection › Theodore Wirth Park
The largest regional park in the Minneapolis Park System, Theodore Wirth Park is 759 acres of year-round recreational activities and natural treasures. The park land is shared by Minneapolis and the neighboring suburb of Golden Valley.
My two favorite destinations within the park are the Eloise Butler Wildflower and Bird Sanctuary (and surrounding woods), and the Quaking Bog.
Mini Collection › North Shore Fungi & Lichens
Capturing the sheer rugged beauty of Minnesota's North Shore and surrounding wilderness (including the vast Boundary Waters Canoe Area) is a worthy life-long pursuit, which I regret not having yet begun. With my limited technical skills and equipment, I cannot begin to do justice, and don't attempt here.
I would, however, like to share this collection of fungi and lichens which piqued my interest on one fall weekend walk along several hiking trails near Tofte.
Mini Collection › Seagrove Beach Florida
Near Destin Florida on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, this is one of those natural settings where it's hard not to take a good picture. The atmosphere and light qualities are so forgiving that pretty much anyone willing to point-and-shoot can return home with some beautiful images and the desire to return as soon as possible.
